Other Housing Resources

Fairfield Baptist Church has apartments available for young men needing a place to stay. Rent is $400/month, or $100/week and includes all utilities and furniture. Center of Independent Living — Help young adults with disabilities receiving Social Security with their housing, educational, employment, adaptation and other needs. Contact Floyd Stewart at kenton_d@tndisability.org or at 615-292-5803 ext. 8628.

Monroe Harding-Interdependent Living Community Housing — The Woodbine Community Organization has developed 14 housing units in the Davidson County area, which Monroe Harding Inc. oversees and manages its programming, to assist youth (18 or older) in their transition out of care by offering more affordable housing opportunities in an effort to reduce homelessness for this population in this county. A portion of these housing units have been designated for DCS youth that are Chafee Eligible and pursing education/vocation goals. Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) — Youth looking for affordable places to rent throughout the Tennessee area. Search www.tnhousingsearch.org.

Woodbine Community Center — Provides education and training on first time homeownership. Contact Rod Williams at 615-833-9580.

Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency Development Department — Provides products and services for affordable rental and homeownership opportunities. Call 615-252-8508.

Oasis Center Homeless Shelter — The Oasis Emergency Shelter offers housing for up to two weeks at no cost for young people ages 13–17. Limited to 12 young people. Call 615-327-4455. Located at 1221 16th Avenue, South Nashville, TN 37212.
